It's kind of "old-tech meets new tech". While other display methods are advancing towards space-saving flat screens, this "holographic tv" system requires a projector at least 5 feet away from the screen.

The article makes no mention of resolution, or whether this uses actual holographic technology (I think they are using the term "holographic" loosely, to describe how the image appears to float in the air).
