The Future of Desktop Computing
Watch this demonstration video and you'll see two very simple things coming together in a way that shows me exactly the direction that computing and user interfaces should go. It's not enough to move one pointer around and click things.
The first advancement is a touch screen capable of detecting more than one press. The other is the user interface using this touch screen. One finger can press and move things. Two fingers placed horizontally and moved apart or towards each other can scale an object. Four fingers (placed in square configuration) can zoom the view in and out. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant and IMO very intuitive. How many times have you wished you could just reach up and move windows around with both hands?
