Grand Illusions
From waxy.org, here's a neat little 3D Optical illusion of a dragon. The first time I saw this little trick was in Disney World at the haunted mansion. It uses concavity to trick the eye into seeing something convex. Very cool trick.

CNN Review: 'Polar Express' a creepy ride
Well, there's a lot of reviews of the "Polar Express" similar to this one. This CNN review is one example of a critic of the movie. It's as I said when I saw the preview... too unnatural. They were better off putting human actors into a CG environment like "sky captain", versus digitizing them to non-realistic characters. Apparently, the bad reviews of Final Fantasy were because the characters were unrealistic. However, the technology it took to do Final Fantasy AND the animation was far superior to that of the Polar Express (IMHO).

Election perspective
Some very interesting 3D view of votes by county in this past election.... goes to show who supports Bush, no? Most major cities with any significant amount of commerce seem to know better.... However, I still like this perspective of things.

Quentin Tarantino is set to shoot his next film entirely in Mandarin! It will be a Kung-Fu movie, followed by a dubbed one with English (with the soundtrack out of sync, no doubt).
