Real-Life Simpsons House
This is a bit of old news, but I had never seen or heard of this before: Back in 1997 Pepsi and some partner companies had a contest with the prize being a real-life full scale replica of the Simpsons' house! There are photos, videos and Quicktime VR tours of rooms here.

Interesting reading about a couple "hackers" (as the article calls them) who discovered and dug up some road sensors, used to detect vehicles entering the area popularly known as "Area 51".

PSP Pictures
Wow, with E3 coming, there's lots of news! Here's a picture of Sony's PSP. Looks nice... except the cover plate. I think at least the cover plate for the Handspring I can attach at the back so that I don't lose it, but it doesn't look like the PSP does that. Nice wide horizontal screen though... for those movies, I guess.

Hyper-Realistic 3D Humans
I used to be into 3D computer graphics. Then my jobs and interests took me away from that. It's been a couple years since I last dabbled in 3D modelling/rendering of people. That was around the time that the movie Final Fantasy came out, with it's incredibly realistic looking people. Now, 3D rendered humans can be even more realistic than ever. Check out the close-ups and other media at 'This Wonderful Life', and the next project in the works by one of the main artists involved in the Final Fantasy movie, Rene Morel.
Tripping the Rift
Some years ago there was a short 3D animation making its rounds, featuring a weird cast of space aliens and an over-sexed android. Well, it seems that short eventually evolved into a series, now playing on the Sci-Fi channel. The entire first episode can be viewed online here.
